support through pregnancy and throughout the early months
Nadine spent some time with me on the postnatal ward 24 hours after my son was born. She helped me find positions where he could more easily latch on and although the details are not clear to me now (lost in the fog of those early days) I remember her being incredibly kind patient and encouraging to me as a brand new mum feeling naturally overwhelmed.
We stayed in touch and I met up with her at a breast feeding clinic where she again gave great advice about the issues I was having with pain during feeding.
Nadine told me to contact her if I needed help and I took her up on it. One day my son just wouldn’t feed and I became engorged. It was painful and traumatic. I rang Nadine and she was so generous with her time, helping me to work out how to hand express and just keep going with feeding, even when he was only getting tiny drops. She even made me lunch! (Definitely above and beyond). Ultimately my son was diagnosed with Thrush in his mouth, and as soon as I started treating it he returned to feeding as normal, but I will never forget the support and kindness that Nadine showed me that day.

"Nadine advised me on breastfeeding with my two daughters. On both occasions I experienced difficulties and pain with breastfeeding and each time Nadine provided me with clear, timely and helpful advice which addressed these challenges. Nadine is knowledgeable, responsive, patient and, above all, kind. She gives great advice without ever putting pressure on you that there is a right or wrong way of doing things. She is just the sort of consultant a new mum wishing to breastfeed needs."
